Revived Technique

It’s been ages since I’ve dabbled in many of the artistic techniques I was shuffled through as an ungrad in college. One I particularly despised at the time was a course in printmaking. Mind you, I had no bones with the professor, nor the material of the course itself — instead, I loathed the tedious nature of the process, which I partially chalk up to my general attitude of impatience at the time. On the other hand, relief printing *is* genuinely dilatory if done with any attention to craftsmanship.

Solar flair?

From my recent adventures into the art of making stained glass.

The bird shape was painted on the amber colored glass and then fired. Note the horizontal fracture as proof of my amateur status — I broke the piece while trying to trim it to fit the overall design.

Still sort of pretty, though.

Here’s a shot of last night’s dinner — sushirific! It was a little odd to take a picture of dinner, but hey, there’s an awful lot of work required to pull it off so why not snap a few shots?
