Solar flair?

From my recent adventures into the art of making stained glass.

The bird shape was painted on the amber colored glass and then fired. Note the horizontal fracture as proof of my amateur status — I broke the piece while trying to trim it to fit the overall design.

Still sort of pretty, though.

Indeed. I’m grateful for the use of a large workshop out in the wilds of Weatherford. Not to mention the fact that the folks out there always feed me and provide adult beverages. ;)

methinks if you remember that glass is more like water, you’ll have a better handling of its fragility…

Might be true, aelan — but I’ve already learned that one can’t be shy in scoring and breaking the pieces — that’s usually what causes unplanned shattering. ;)
